Positions

An omnibus position represents an investor's settled holdings in a fund share class for a given distribution election. Positions are tied to a single investor account, where an investor may have multiple accounts.

Each settled acquisition of shares creates a tax lot. Lots hold the remaining shares and cost basis for the position. When shares are sold, the account's tax-lot election determines which open lots are used.

Position and lot balances change after settlement. Pending and cancelled orders do not affect them.

Lots are not returned by default. Set includeLots to true when you need the open lots contributing to each position. Lots are returned in FIFO order by acquisitionDate.

Positions can be filtered by financial institution, investor account, investor, omnibus fund, omnibus share class, and distribution election.
