Indications of Interest (“IOIs”)

Market Dynamics

Encouraging users to submit indications of interest is critical to building a healthy marketplace as it allows Monark to evaluate user demand for specific deals, which we will then use to gauge interest in private company shares that will be offered through SPVs on the platform. IOI data is used to show our supply partners that there is sufficient demand to fill an SPV of any given number of shares.

In addition to creating a measure for investor demand, IOIs also provide an avenue through which investors can stay up to date with any new offerings that come through for a company they have previously indicated interest in, in addition to the existing watchlist functionality. Once a user indicates interest, they should be notified of any new offerings that come through the platform.

IOIs may be submitted and updated using the following endpoints:

/primary/v2/indication-of-interest (GET, POST, PUT)
/primary/v2/indication-of-interest/{id} (GET, DEL)

Sample UI

Currently, IOI submission requires submission of a notional value of “how much” of the company an investor wants to buy. There are no buying power checks needed in order to submit an IOI, and IOIs are collected at the company level.
