- Private Markets: Onboarding (this section): how the product works, how to connect, and what to check before going live
- Private Company Marketplace: investor accounts, accreditation, and the offerings and companies your investors browse
- Private Company Investing: the offering page, the order, the required actions, and the portfolio
If you are new to Monark, start with the Product Flow Overview.
Onboarding Steps
Some steps are carried out by Monark and some by your platform. Timing depends mostly on deal flow.
| Step | Who | What happens | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Scope | Monark and you | Agree the companies and deal structures you want to offer, and which of your entities are onboarded as financial institutions | Product Flow Overview |
| 2. Sandbox access | Monark | Issues your sandbox API key. Request one at [email protected] | Integration Overview |
| 3. Financial institutions | Monark | Sets up each broker-dealer, RIA or FFI you distribute through as a financial institution under your partner record. A partner with a direct investor relationship gets a default one | Integration Overview |
| 4. Confirm institutions | You | List them with GET /primary/v1/financial-institution and note each financialInstitutionId. Every investor, offering and market-data call is scoped by it | Integration Overview |
| 5. Webhooks | You | Register an endpoint with POST /primary/v1/webhook, verify signatures, and handle each event | Webhooks |
| 6. Alts Desk access | Monark and you | Your deal and operations team gets Alts Desk logins, where diligence review and SPV approval normally happen. Approval is also available over the API | Product Flow Overview |
| 7. Build | You | Accounts and accreditation, the marketplace and company pages, the offering page and order, required actions, and the portfolio | Private Company Marketplace, Private Company Investing |
| 8. Test | You | Take a subscription from account creation to Processing in the sandbox, and exercise the refusals | Sandbox Walkthrough, Errors & Reason Codes |
| 9. Go live | Monark and you | Review the checklist together. Monark issues your production API key and base URL | Go-Live Checklist |
